YWAM Tuen Mun Poverty Simulation

Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm

The Poverty Simulation is an eye-opening opportunity to experience the realities of poverty in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, more than 20% of Hong Kong’s population live under the poverty line. Often these people are treated as a statistic and remain unseen. We hope to bring greater awareness of these situations through our simulation and a fresh understanding of poverty in Hong Kong.

Using drama, discussion and role play, we give the participants a chance to understand those who live in such conditions and the choices they are faced with every minute of their day. Through the program, participants will also get a chance to meet and distribute food to cardboard collectors and street sleepers in Tuen Mun area.

Type of task: Role play, discussion, interaction with people, packing food, food distribution, direct contact with beneficiaries

Date:  14 Aug 2021, Saturday 2PM-5PM
Where: Tuen Mun
Beneficiaries: 25-30 people
Great experience for families and small groups, ideal for those aged 10+. Spots are limited.
